ZingDo was built so you never have to hand over what's in your head. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.

The short version: ZingDo has no account of its own. Your tasks, brain dumps, and voice live on your device and — with iCloud Sync on — sync privately through your own iCloud account so they're available on your other devices. That's your Apple ID, not us: we can't see it. The AI runs on-device by default; if you opt into cloud planning, the text you ask us to plan is sent to our server only to build the plan and returned to your device — we keep no copy and never use it to train models.

What we collect

Almost nothing. ZingDo does not require you to create an account, and we never ask for your name, email, or phone number to use the app.

How the AI works

ZingDo's planning features run with on-device intelligence by default on hardware that supports it, so your words become tasks without ever leaving your phone.

If you choose cloud planning

On devices that can't run the model locally — or any time you opt into the cloud model from Settings — the text you ask us to plan is sent to our server, processed to generate your tasks, and the result is returned to your device. We do not keep a copy of what you send, and we do not use it to train models. You can switch back to on-device-only planning at any time.

Voice input

When you plan by voice, ZingDo needs microphone access, which you grant in iOS. Your speech is transcribed to text — on your device where your hardware and language support on-device dictation. On some devices or languages, transcription uses Apple's speech recognition, which may process the audio on Apple's systems under Apple's privacy terms. ZingDo does not store your audio recordings, and the resulting transcript is treated like any other content you create.

Subscriptions

Billing is handled through the App Store and our payments partner, RevenueCat, using an anonymous identifier. This lets us check whether your subscription is active — it is not linked to an account you create with us, and it carries none of your task content.

Where your data lives

Everything you create in ZingDo is stored on your device. By default, ZingDo also uses Apple's iCloud to keep your tasks in sync across the devices signed into your Apple ID.

This uses your own private iCloud database. Your data is tied to your Apple ID — not to any ZingDo account — and we have no access to it. You can turn iCloud Sync off at any time in Settings to keep your data on a single device. Either way, there is no ZingDo-controlled database of your tasks for us to access, breach, or hand over.

Your controls

Data retention

Because your content lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you control how long it's kept — it stays until you delete it or remove the app. We don't hold a copy on our servers. Cloud planning requests are processed only to build your plan and are not retained afterwards. Anonymous usage analytics are kept only in aggregate and can't be traced back to you.

International data transfers

If you use cloud planning, the text you submit may be processed on servers located in a country other than your own. It is used only to generate your plan and is not stored. On-device planning involves no transfer at all — you can keep everything local by leaving the on-device model selected.

Security

Your data is protected by your device's and Apple's security: on-device storage sits behind your device passcode and encryption, and iCloud sync uses your Apple ID's private, encrypted iCloud database. Cloud planning requests are sent over an encrypted connection. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we keep nothing on our own servers to lose.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Because ZingDo keeps your data on your device and your own iCloud — not on our servers — you exercise most of these rights directly:

Children's privacy

ZingDo is a general-audience productivity app. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, if that is higher), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how ZingDo handles data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.
